About Maureen
Maureen is a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) who gained her degree and license to practise as a SALT in Manchester and has been practising since 1996. Over the course of her NHS career, she has worked extensively with both adults and children, supporting individuals with speech, language and communication needs.
She has particular expertise in working with neurodivergence and has developed specialist skills supporting clients understanding how attention, regulation, and oral function interact. meaningful, lasting improvements in their daily lives.
She decided to specialise in Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy after benefitting from myofunctional therapy herself and has grown from seeing the profound impact that oral habits, muscle patterns, and breathing can have on communication and wellbeing. This led her to complete her Myofunctional Therapy training with the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy (AOMT) in 2024 and started her Buteyko Breathing training in 2025. She brings together her decades of clinical experience with this specialist training to offer a holistic, evidence‑informed approach to improving oral function.

Maureen joined Inspirewell in March 2025, where she works closely with clients of all ages to support healthier breathing, improved oral‑motor patterns, and clearer communication. Her calm, compassionate manner helps clients feel at ease, while her depth of knowledge ensures they receive thoughtful, tailored care. She is passionate about empowering individuals and families to understand their oral function, build healthier habits, and achieve their goals.
